I've been struggling since I've been home from my 'far down yonder' journey.........
A friend suggested it would take as long as I was gone to recover from it...............I think she is right.....
So that is what I've been doing...............recovering.......and assimilating......and loving......and avoiding......
going to this place.............
and opening the door to.........
this...........
my throw away place.............
I guess it won't make it into this issue of Where Women Create...................unless it's the 'before' picture!
Moving and traveling have taken it's toll..........so this is where I'll be today.......with my leaf blower.......trying to figure this out. I've had this place for two years and still feel like I'm camping there.....
And it's not lost on me how lucky I am to have a 'PLACE'..............to be........an Urban Maker.......
And it is also not lost on me that this is NOT a pretty picture given all the other pretty pictures on this blog so far..............
Not bleak at all! I would love a studio like that! Those windows are fantastic--OK, maybe they are dirty and can't be cleaned, so the light is filtered--even better. Just kidding! I think we've all been there-- either the space is all wrong, or somehow we're not using the space in a nurturing way. But what really matters is how do you feel in there? Like creating your work, or like getting the hell out?! And what would change that?
ReplyDeleteThank You Ms. Mango........you're the second person who said it was not bleak from that photo............but to answer your question ......as I DO work there......often I want to get the hell out the moment I step into it. I will give this some serious thought.........most folks find the space warm and cozy. I still have not done my 'thing' to make it mine yet.........normally this is not difficult....but for some reason it has been at this location........
