When India Flint announced her guided excursion to this very special place,
I was inspired to post this collection of photos I took on an extraordinary journey
to the very same destination some years ago…
hoping I've done it justice...
the road to Wirrealpa…
Thank you my friend.
India writes about her upcoming offering HERE
Information about Wirrealpa Station can be found on Google and HERE

ReplyDelete[ and how about the cloth caught in the tree ... what a magic thing that was ! ] thank YOU !
You are most welcome! And you are not the only one who had more hair back then ;-)….
DeleteThe cloth seemed like an angel wing to me. It was all magic.
So many fabulous pictures - reminds me we were there just after the first big rains in twenty years :-)
ReplyDeletethank you!
Difficult to edit them for sure….there were many more. And I guess it's worth mentioning the rarity of the Sturt's Desert Peas in the photos above, lest your guests expect to see them. The rains that year brought sights, that you pointed out, most Australian's never get to see.
DeleteWonderful, wonderful photos. Oh I wish I was going.
ReplyDeleteThe trip is almost worth taking out a second mortgage for...
Deleteso stunning .... i can smell the wool shed
ReplyDeleteaaaahhhhh, yes! Funny thing was I never saw a sheep. The land is that vast.
Deletethankyou for the peek into your travelling, the light, the color...
ReplyDeleteYou are so welcome Velma! You know that land….what I can't convey here is how it 'feels' to stand on it.
Deletei've only been out on the land for a bit over a week--lots of time in melbourne, though! i was in woods and hills.
DeleteWine country!

Wirrealpa Station is a working sheep ranch north of Adelaide, Port Augusta and the Flinders Ranges, in South Australia. So am I on the other side of the world from there! I just added links to India's Blog and Wirrealpa Station at the bottom of this post. Thank you for asking Diana.
DeleteThank you for this visit to Australia. What you have shown in these amazing images is what I have imagined....so grand and open, marked with repetition of beautiful small things. I was mesmerized by this visit.
